2020 Virtual Solo Competition

The Parasky Flute Studios is pleased to announce it's first virtual solo competition!

Let's work together to keep music thriving during these difficult times. This competition is open to any students who live or attend school in the Mid-Atlantic States (Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, North Carolina, West Virginia, Washington DC, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania). Different age categories are open to Academic Students in Grades 5-12, Undergraduate Flute Majors & Graduate Flute majors.

A video audition submission is required by 8 PM EST on Friday, May 1, 2020 (no exceptions). Video files should be uploaded as a part of the registration form. Do not register until you are ready to submit a video in order to apply to the PFS Virtual Solo Competition. Results will be posted on or before June 15, 2020.

Videos must show a visible clock (digital or analog) in the background and must contain a continuous unedited performance of the requirements in the exact order that they are listed.

The registration deadline has passed. Applications will no longer be accepted.

  • A Google account is REQUIRED in order to submit a registration form in order to upload an audition video. You will be prompted to sign in with your Google account or to create a Google account when accessing the Registration Form.

  • A Registration Fee of $30 is required in order for your audition to be evaluated. You will find the link to submit payment in the confirmation message once you submit the registration form!


First and Second Place Monetary Awards will be provided in each age category. Actual financial award amounts will be dependent on the total number of entries. The $30 registration fee will be allocated as follows per application: $10 into the monetary award fund pool, $12 into the honorarium fund pool for 3 judges, $8 to Mr. Parasky for administrative efforts in coordinating and running this competition.
